Victorian Equine Veterinary Director

Apiam Animal Health is one of Australia’s leading veterinary groups, with a growing network of equine hospitals, reproduction centres, ambulatory practices and specialist equine services across Victoria.

As our equine division continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and respected equine veterinarian to join our leadership team as Victorian Equine Veterinary Director.

Reporting to the Chief Veterinary Officer and the Equine National Business Manager, this is a unique opportunity to influence the future of equine veterinary services across our Victorian Apiam Equine Clinics. Working closely with clinic leaders, veterinarians and equine management, you will drive clinical excellence, strengthen client relationships, support our teams and help shape the ongoing growth of our equine division.

About the Role

The Victorian Equine Veterinary Director will provide leadership across Apiam’s equine clinics, hospitals and reproduction centres throughout Victoria.

You will support clinical excellence, mentor and develop veterinarians, strengthen relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, and contribute to the growth and success of our equine services.

While primarily a leadership position, there may be opportunities to contribute clinically where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Clinical Excellence

• Provide leadership and support across Apiam’s Victorian equine businesses

• Drive high standards of patient care, client service and clinical excellence

• Support clinical standards, protocols and continuous improvement initiatives

• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across our equine teams

People Development

• Mentor and support equine veterinarians at all stages of their careers

• Assist with veterinarian recruitment, retention and succession planning

• Help develop future veterinary leaders within the equine division

Client Relationships & Industry Engagement

• Strengthen relationships with key clients, breeders, studs, trainers and referral partners

• Support exceptional client experiences across our equine services

• Represent Apiam within the broader equine industry

Service Development & Growth

• Identify opportunities for service development and growth

• Support the continued development of referral and specialist services

• Contribute to the strategic direction and long-term success of Apiam’s equine businesses

About You

You are an experienced equine veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing people, building relationships and advancing clinical excellence.

You will bring:

• Extensive equine veterinary experience

• Professional credibility within the equine industry

• Leadership and mentoring experience

• Strong communication and relationship building skills

• Commercial awareness and an understanding of veterinary business performance
