Summary
Our client, Union Hotel, is a long-standing cultural icon in Adelaide, proudly serving the community since 1855. Recognised as one of the city’s most distinctive boutique gastropubs, the hotel blends tradition with contemporary hospitality. Our client is seeking to add a Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, uphold exceptional service standards and strengthen its reputation as a trusted local pub in the heart of the city.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Plan menus in consultation with Chefs, considering seasonal availability, customer preferences, and profitability.
• Organise and coordinate special functions, events, and group bookings within the hotel restaurant.
• Arrange purchasing of food, beverages, and supplies, and determine pricing strategies in line with the approved budget.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders, wastage, and financial transactions.
• Ensure dining and kitchen facilities comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Monitor customer satisfaction by conferring with guests and addressing feedback or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Recruit, select, train, and supervise waiting staff and coordinate closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
• Oversee staff rosters, performance management, and ongoing training to maintain service standards.
• Take reservations, greet guests, and assist with service during busy periods as required.
• Implement and monitor operational procedures to maximise efficiency, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Minimum of Diploma of Hospitality Management or higher in a relevant field.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Sound financial and stock control knowledge
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety regulations
