Summary
Our client MONIKA FOODS PTY LTD, trading as The Coffee Club – Baldivis, operates a busy café and restaurant providing quality coffee, breakfast, lunch and popular café-style meals in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Our client is seeking to add a Cook to its Baldivis kitchen team, supporting the consistent preparation and presentation of fresh meals while maintaining high standards of food quality and service.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Prepare and cook a variety of fresh café-style meals according to established recipes and standards.
• Examine food ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness, quality and suitability before preparation.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment throughout service.
• Season and cook food appropriately to maintain consistent flavour, texture and presentation.
• Portion meals accurately and arrange food attractively on plates for customer service.
• Prepare breakfast, lunch and other café menu items efficiently during busy service periods.
• Prepare sauces, garnishes and accompaniments required for menu items and daily service.
• Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Prepare meals to accommodate customer dietary requirements, allergies and reasonable special requests.
• Maintain clean, organised and hygienic kitchen work areas, equipment and food preparation surfaces.
• Monitor ingredient levels and assist with estimating food requirements for daily kitchen operations.
• Follow established food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Coordinate food preparation activities to ensure meals are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist with training and supporting other kitchen staff in preparation methods and food safety procedures.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Certificate III in Kitchen Management or a closely related commercial cookery qualification is required for this position.
• A minimum of 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience working as a Cook is mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and cook varied café-style meals consistently during busy kitchen service periods.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, temperature control and safe food storage practices is essential.
• Good communication skills are required to work effectively with kitchen, service and supervisory team members.
• Ability to manage competing preparation and cooking priorities while maintaining consistent food quality and presentation standards.
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes, portion meals accurately and accommodate reasonable dietary requirements is required.
• A Diploma of Hospitality or another relevant hospitality qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
