The Role
We are seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to join our accomplished Security & Visitor Services team as a Building Security Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols, including car parks and loading docks, ensuring all areas are secure
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety and Liquor Licensing regulations in your capacity as a Crowd Controller
- Respond to alarms, assist in incident and emergency management, and provide first aid when required
- Proactively operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control
- Coordinate emergency responses and act in key roles such as Chief Warden and First Aid Officer when required
- Oversee and audit the secure handling and movement of cash floats
- Perform random bag and locker checks and ensure overall adherence to AVM policies and procedures
- Maintain detailed reports and logs using internal systems such as Kwiklook
- Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors, team members, and clients
- Support AVM’s environmental, safety, and risk management initiatives
- Participate in housekeeping duties and escalate cleaning or maintenance needs as required
- Ensure compliance with WHS responsibilities, including incident reporting and safe work practices
Role Requirements
- Hold a current SA Security Licence with RSA and crowd controller endorsement for licensed premises.
- Willing to undertake paid training to obtain Warden Accreditation if required.
- Successfully complete a Pre-Employment Medical.
- Ability to perform administrative tasks, including compiling high-standard reports

- Communication: Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer systems, with prior experience in Access Control, Fire, and CCTV Systems considered a bonus.
- Flexibility: Available for shift work on a 24-hour roster and able to travel as needed for work schedules.
- Experience: Proven work history in the security industry.
