Business Development Manager (Co Founder)

Description

This is an opportunity to join a start up in the "Energy as a Service" space as a Co Founder and Business Development Manager.

Your new Company:

Founded by serial entrepreneurs, they have developed a business model that funds C&I solar power and battery installation for their clients. They generate revenue by selling electricity to tenants and the grid, often at cheaper rates than traditional retailers as the energy is solar generated or Energy as a Service (EaaS). They have a 20MW generation pipeline and a similar amount of battery potential.

Your new role:

This isn’t your average employment opportunity; it’s an opportunity to become a Co – Founder of an Energy as a Service start up. You will be rewarded in line with the company’s ownership model, but you also have to be willing to share in the risk.

You will be given the autonomy to develop creative ways to represent the business and win new opportunities for growth. You will develop C&I Solar/Battery - DER project opportunities with customers that are strategically aligned with the business model. You will also:

• Engage clients in consultation with leadership and engineering to qualify and validate C&I & Distributed Energy Resource opportunities.
• Develop and implement client engagement plans.
• Scope and assess project opportunities.
• Manage all client stakeholders and key decision makers throughout the business and project development process.
• Develop sales tools and methodologies (project assessment tools, pricing tools, pitch documents, proposals, term sheets) to engage and inform clients.
• Have opportunities to manage and mentor junior Business Development Managers. 

Who you are:

You will need to be genuinely interested in ownership and understand that it's not ownership and a corporate, risk free salary, it's ownership or a risk free salary.

You will need early phase/start-up experience in business development and sales from the smaller scale Solar and/or Battery industry, developing strategy, winning clients/projects and supporting business growth. Experience from renewable energy industries/technologies such as C&I, VPP, Microgrid, DER, EV Charging, Energy efficiency and/or demand response are all relevant. You will:

• Understand end-user Commercial & Industrial uses for energy within the energy efficiency sector.
• Bring knowledge and skills in developing and implementing business development strategies.
• Have strong personal networks within the C&I Solar/Battery industry.
