Since 1997 a long-established Northern Beaches charity has been supporting young people to successfully transition from adolescence to adulthood. Working alongside schools, businesses and the community to help young people develop the skills and confidence they need for life, work and wellbeing.
We are looking for a Work Placement Coordinator to join the team and play a key role in connecting secondary school students with meaningful workplace experiences.
You will build relationships with local businesses to develop suitable placement opportunities, work closely with teachers and school staff, and provide students with the support they need to understand workplace expectations and get the most from their experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to secure suitable work placement opportunities for students.
- Work closely with schools, teachers and nominated school staff to coordinate student registrations, placements and evaluations.
- Support students with work readiness, helping them understand workplace expectations and prepare for their placement.
- Match students with appropriate placement opportunities based on their individual needs and circumstances.
- Maintain regular communication with schools, employers, students, parents and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develop relationships with local industry and business networks to increase participation in the program.
- Coordinate and deliver stakeholder events, appreciation activities and promotional initiatives.
- Develop newsletters, communications and marketing content to promote the program and share student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate student records, case notes and program documentation.
- Monitor placement progress and gather feedback to evaluate and continually improve the program.
- Develop and manage partnerships with businesses and other organisations, including negotiating partnership arrangements and obligations.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including government and education bodies.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant child protection, privacy and other legislative requirements.
- Monitor program expenditure and work within allocated budgets.

- Confidence using Microsoft Office and other business systems.
Essential Requirements
- Current NSW C Class Driver's License.
- Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain as part of onboarding)
- A current First Aid Certificate would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Permanent Residency or Citizenship
To be successful in this role you might come from a background in administration, coordination, recruitment, education, employment services, business development, community services or a similar environment.
