Unique opportunity for a Senior Database & Analytics Engineer who wants to do more than build data solutions, you’ll help shape how data is engineered, governed, understood and reused across the organisation.
As part of a growing AI, Data & Analytics team, you’ll work across the full data lifecycle, turning source data, business rules and mappings into trusted, governed and analytics-ready data, while collaborating with Analysts, Data Engineers and stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be hands-on with SQL, data modelling and transformation, while also having the autonomy to challenge, influence and improve how engineering is done.

You will report directly into the Head of Data & AI & collaborate to establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and quality practices, tackle technical debt and constructively challenge designs that create unnecessary complexity or risk.
And with the organisation investing heavily in Data, Technology and AI, you'll be helping create the foundations for what comes next.
What you'll bring
- 8+ years' experience across data engineering, analytics or related data domains
- Advanced SQL and strong database development skills
- Strong experience across data modelling, ETL/ELT, transformation and source-to-target mapping
- Solid understanding of data quality, reconciliation, metadata and lineage
- Experience with a modern cloud data platform — Microsoft Fabric / Azure highly desirable
- Understanding of warehouse, lakehouse and medallion architecture
- Experience with Git, code review and CI/CD
- Python and/or PySpark would be a bonus
- A track record of setting technical standards and improving engineering practices
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership.
You don't need detailed technical supervision. You can work through ambiguity, bring people together, whiteboard a problem, make sound technical decisions and drive an outcome from design through to production.

You'll work closely with Data Engineers, Technical Business Analysts, Data Governance, Architecture and Reporting & Visualisation teams — helping raise the maturity of the wider capability while contributing to a longer-term Data + AI transformation.
