Maintenance Fitter - Long term Casual Role -  ($55-58/hr) - Immediate Start

Location: Campbellfield, VIC
Employment Type: Full-Time | Long Term Casual Position 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join the operations team. Reporting to the Plant and Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring our plant, equipment, and facilities operate safely, reliably, and at optimum performance.

As part of the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and being part of a small maintenance team to deliver outstanding operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance activities

  • Support maintenance shutdowns and equipment overhauls

  • Continuously improve the preventative maintenance program

  • Monitor critical spare parts inventory and oversee engineering stores

  • Assist with maintenance budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

  • Work closely with production teams to maximise plant uptime and reliability

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance systems and processes

  • Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel to achieve business objectives

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and statutory requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing

  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and plant reliability practices

  • Experience working with industrial plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, motors, and heat exchangers

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience managing contractors and external service providers

  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS/MEX preferred)
