Business Overview:

Our venue partner, CHICKANJI PTY LTD trading as Chickanji Wetherill Park is a New South Wales-based hospitality business specialising in charcoal chicken, Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine, burgers, wraps, skewers, desserts, and casual dining meals. The business operates multiple locations across Sydney, including Wetherill Park, Mount Druitt, and Roselands, offering dine-in, takeaway, and catering services to a broad customer base.

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is critical to the smooth running of day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistent product and service quality, supervising and supporting staff, and delivering a customer experience that reflects our standards.

Salary Range : $77000-$83000AUD

Key Responsibilities

Chef :

  1. Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and service standards.
  2. Ensure all dishes meet high standards of quality, consistency, taste, and presentation.
  3. Participate in menu planning and development, including introducing new dishes and utilising seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
  4. Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations (including HACCP).
  5. Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure proper storage of food to minimise wastage and maintain cost control.
  6. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service delivery.

Cook :

  1. Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment to produce high-quality meals.
  2. Portion and prepare ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and accompaniments.
  3. Ensure all dishes meet required taste, texture, and presentation standards before service.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
  5. Store food properly, rotate stock, and monitor freshness to minimise wastage.
  6. Assist with menu preparations, including mise en place and daily food production.
  7. Follow kitchen procedures and support smooth service during busy periods.
  8. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
  9. Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  10. Prepare, season, cook, and present a variety of Mediterranean dishes according to established recipes and menu standards.

Skills & Experience Required :

  1. Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
  2. Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  3. Ability to prepare a variety of dishes with precision and attention to detail.
  4. Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skill
