Job Description

The Opportunity

If you enjoy hands-on technical work and are at your best when assembling, fault-finding, and bringing complex equipment back to life, then this role will suit you. We are looking for a Workshop Technician to apply their skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.

You’ll join our Remote Operations Service Line, who work hands-on with specialised ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessels) systems in our state-of-the-art Balcatta workshop. You will focus primarily on ROV tooling, ensuring complex equipment is assembled, maintained, and ready for deployment in critical operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Assemble, service, and repair equipment and systems associated with ROV and USV systems (mechanical, hydraulic and electronic)

  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective troubleshooting across integrated equipment

  • Perform equipment testing and inspections to confirm operational readiness

  • Use workshop and trade-specific tools (e.g. drills, grinders, cutters, HPUs) safely and effectively

  • Complete service reports, test documentation, and calculations to verify equipment performance

About You

You’re a practical, detail-focused technician who enjoys working across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems. You take pride in delivering reliable work and ensuring equipment performs to a high standard.

You bring:

  • A recognised trade certificate and/or completed apprenticeship (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar)

  • Experience maintaining and repairing complex equipment in a workshop environment

  • Competency with general workshop tools and trade-specific equipment

  • Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems

  • Clear written communication skills, including the ability to complete reports and interpret test results
