Warehouse Facility Maintenance Trades Assistant - Prestons Location
- Assist with general maintenance and repairs in a warehouse environment.
- Work closely with skilled tradespeople to ensure facility efficiency.
- Conduct basic repairs and maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas.
Our client, a leader in the Cold Temperature controlled warehousing and distribution sector are currently on the search for a reliable and experienced Trades Assistant to join their warehouse facility maintenance team based in Prestons.
In this hands-on role, you will assist with general maintenance, repairs, and support tasks across our warehouse operations. You’ll work closely with skilled tradespeople and maintenance supervisors to ensure the facility is safe, clean, and operating efficiently.
Position Brief
- Flexible Start time 6AM or 7AM
- Monday to Friday working week
- 38 hours plus overtime where required
- Temp – Permanent Opportunity
- Pay Rate: $38 - $40 per hour pending experience
- Well established and growing business
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding and repairs of steel cages
- Repairs on dock roller doors
- Painting and upkeep of facility safety walkways
- Assist with repair and replacement racking beams
- Assist in general building and facility maintenance tasks
- Support tradespeople with repairs and preventative maintenance
- Conduct basic repairs, cleaning, and equipment upkeep
- Move tools, materials, and equipment as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all work areas
- Report hazards, damage, or maintenance issues promptly
- Perform other duties as directed by the maintenance team leader
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or trades assistant role a MUST
- Current Forklift Licence
- Current EWP licence ( Highly Desirable but not essential)
- Welding experience Highly desirable ( MIG / STICK)
- Mechanically minded
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Current driver’s license and reliable transport (preferred)
- Must have full work rights
