Purpose That Counts. 
Queensland Rail has an exciting opportunity for a Track Maintenance Supervisor to join our Regional Assets team located at our Normanton depot on a permanent full-time basis.

As the Track Maintenance Supervisor, you will effectively manage the allocation and deployment of resources including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely track maintenance on behalf of Network.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ensuring road patrols and other track monitoring activities are conducted as required
  • efficiently managing workgroup resources and activities to meet defined work programs
  • conducting audits of completed work, coordinate emergency responses, and implement, adjust, remove, review, and report on speed restrictions as required
  • overseeing training, development, performance management, succession planning and the Civil Infrastructure Competency System for direct reports
  • actively promoting safe work practices by implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

  • strong relationship-building and communication skills to effectively lead your team and maintain productive stakeholder relationships
  • substantial knowledge of track construction, maintenance and inspection standards, systems, processes and associated costs
  • proven ability in prioritising, planning, programming and resource management of track maintenance activities
  • experience in leadership, communication, people management, industrial relations and negotiation skills
  • demonstrated capability in the management of assets allocated to the position including inventory, plant, equipment, motor vehicles and building assets
