KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Lead major transmission and generation projects in Western Australia.
  • Provide technical direction and quality assurance for HV substations and generation infrastructure.
  • Mentor engineers and support multidisciplinary power projects across Australia.

Our world demands low carbon energy solutions to achieve a net zero future.

As we transition from traditional energy sources and adopt more renewable alternatives, you can play a key role in enabling and accelerating this change.

We’ll support you every step of the way as you join us in finding sustainable energy solutions that make a positive impact for generations to come.

Bring your high voltage experience to the power infrastructure shaping Western Australia’s energy future.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Technical Director – Electrical (HV) to join our Western Australian Energy team in Perth.

You’ll help guide major transmission and generation projects in Western Australia and contribute your technical capability to multidisciplinary power projects across Australia. Your work will span HV substations, transmission and generation, including design direction and Owner’s Engineer reviews for battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind, solar and conventional generation.

This is a senior technical leadership role with genuine breadth, focused on technical direction rather than traditional line management. You’ll move between concept design, technical review and quality assurance while providing project direction and working directly with clients.

You’ll draw on your technical experience to build trusted relationships with utilities, generators and energy developers. You’ll also support engineers across our connected teams, sharing knowledge and strengthening technical capability.

Working with our connected Energy team, you’ll be involved in:

• Guiding transmission engineering within multidisciplinary power projects across Australia
• Leading substation primary and/or secondary design scopes on substation projects
• Developing concept designs for major generation and transmission infrastructure
• Reviewing electrical engineering packages for renewable energy, storage and conventional generation Owner’s Engineer projects
• Providing technical direction, substation design quality assurance and senior technical support
• Presenting designs and technical outcomes in client workshops
• Acting as Project Director or Design Manager on complex electrical utility design projects
• Contributing to bids and proposals, including coordinating submissions where appropriate
• Mentoring mid-level and early-career engineers, with a strong focus on quality, safety, budget and schedule

What you will bring to the team:

• A degree in electrical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or active progression towards achieving it
• Substantial relevant industry experience, preferably gained in engineering consulting or a power utility
• Broad high voltage engineering experience, with a sound understanding of substations and transmission infrastructure
• Sound engineering judgement and experience providing senior technical input on complex power and generation projects
• The ability to work directly with clients, build trusted relationships and communicate complex engineering matters clearly
• A collaborative approach to technical leadership, quality and mentoring

If you meet most, but not all, of these criteria, we’d still like to hear from you.
