An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading organisation undertaking a major enterprise-wide data transformation initiative. The organisation is investing heavily in modern cloud and analytics capabilities and is currently migrating its data platform from AWS to Microsoft Fabric.
Your new role
As the Technical Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the successful migration from AWS to Microsoft Fabric while providing hands-on technical leadership across the data platform.This role will suit an experienced data technology leader who enjoys remaining close to the technology whilst influencing architecture, delivery outcomes, and technical direction. Working with a cross-functional team of data professionals, you will lead platform design decisions, drive Agile delivery, and establish best practices across the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the transition of enterprise data products and platforms from AWS to Microsoft Fabric.
- Providing architectural leadership across Microsoft Fabric, including Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, and data engineering solutions.
- Designing scalable, secure, and high-performing data platform solutions.
- Guiding technical teams through architecture, development, and implementation activities.
- Leading Scrum ceremonies and sprint planning activities within an Agile environment.
- Coordinating day-to-day delivery across a team of technical specialists and stakeholders.
- Driving technical standards, governance, and best practices across the data platform.
- Acting as the key technical advisor to project and business stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern Azure data platforms.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale cloud migration programmes, ideally involving AWS to Microsoft Fabric or Azure transitions.
- Extensive knowledge of Fabric Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, Data Engineering, and Analytics capabilities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, platform design, and data governance principles.
- Previous experience leading technical teams in a non-direct reporting capacity.
- Demonstrated experience running Agile delivery processes, including Scrum and sprint planning.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical delivery.
Highly desirable:
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience working within large and complex enterprise environments.
- Exposure to modern data governance, data quality, and data management frameworks.
