About this Position:
Lismore City Council is seeking an experienced Strategic Planner to join our Economy Planning & Environment team on a 12-month maximum term contract.
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Services, you will lead and contribute to strategic land use planning initiatives, including planning proposals, policy development, Plans of Management, and key strategies supporting Council’s Property Strategy. You’ll provide expert advice, manage projects, and engage with the community, government agencies and stakeholders on complex planning matters.

What we trust you to deliver:

Prepare and manage planning proposals, strategies and policies

Provide expert advice on land use planning and legislation

Deliver community engagement and consultation processes

Liaise with internal teams, government agencies and the community

Manage projects and external consultants
What you will need to be successful:
-
Possession of an appropriate Planning Degree or similar together with work experience in strategic land use planning, preferably in NSW.

Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation

Proven experience in strategic planning and project management

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Collaborative, adaptable and outcome-focused

Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Full-time Term Contract: 35 hours a week
