About the role

As Storeperson, you will be responsible for maintaining stock availability across the Hospital by replenishing ward and department imprests to agreed stock levels, receiving and distributing supplies from the Warehouse and external vendors, and ensuring deliveries are accurately stored and distributed to the appropriate locations.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the efficient operation of hospital services and the delivery of quality patient care.

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming goods, ensuring stock is accurate, undamaged, and appropriately documented.

  • Replenish ward and department imprest stock to agreed levels using the inventory management system.

  • Pick, pack, and distribute stock and equipment accurately and efficiently to hospital departments.

  • Maintain effective stock control practices, including storage, stock rotation, inventory counts, and record management.

  • Coordinate urgent deliveries, supplier returns, and direct site deliveries to support operational requirements.

  • Ensure the stores, receiving areas, and stock locations are maintained in a safe, organised, and compliant manner.

  • Monitor and report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and inventory issues to support inventory accuracy.

  • Deliver high-quality customer service by responding to enquiries and assisting hospital caregivers with supply requirements.

Your skills and experience

To excel in this role, you will bring strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be a collaborative team player who can follow direction, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. A current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence are essential.

You will possess strong attention to detail, sound numerical and computer skills, and the ability to accurately manage stock, inventory, and data entry processes. A proactive approach to problem-solving, coupled with a commitment to workplace health and safety, will be critical to your success. In addition, you will be comfortable using inventory systems and computers to support efficient warehouse and distribution operations.

This is a physically active role requiring the ability to safely undertake a range of manual handling and logistics activities. This includes pushing trolleys laden with goods, operating forklifts and motorised pallet movers, using manual pallet trolleys, lifting and moving furniture and equipment, climbing ladders to store and retrieve stock, driving, loading and unloading delivery vehicles, and gowning appropriately when entering sterile areas.

  • Salary: $66,243 to $67,367, plus 12% superannuation

  • Full Time, permanent position, working 38 hours a week.
