Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The role will require you to:
- Operate heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production targets and maximise equipment utilisation.
- Maintain competency across multiple machinery types and perform operating duties in line with site requirements.
- Identify, report and assist in controlling workplace hazards to support a safe working environment.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, risk assessments, safe work practices and statutory requirements.
- Perform regular plant and equipment inspections and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of plant and equipment care, ensuring machinery is operated responsibly and damage is minimised.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas, including operational, crib and access areas, and dispose of waste in accordance with site environmental requirements.
- Contribute positively to a team environment by supporting, mentoring and assisting fellow team members where required.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and training initiatives to continuously improve site performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of Dozers, Watercarts, Graders & Haul Trucks within a mining or heavy industry environment
- Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal MiningSafety & Health Act and associated regulations.
- Sound communication skills within a mining environment
- Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to a company culture
- Applicable Coal Competencies - signed by SSE/Delegate
- Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
- Maintain and possess a current Queensland Driver's licence
