Staff Specialist – General Pathology

Location: Launceston, Tasmania

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (0.8 FTE)

Salary: $222,789 – $319,701 p.a. (pro rata) + 12% super + benefits

Start Date: ASAP (negotiable)

About the Role

A rewarding opportunity for a Staff Specialist in General Pathology within a public pathology service supporting a major referral hospital in Northern Tasmania. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality pathology services to hospitals, specialists, and the community. The role offers a diverse case mix in a well-regarded regional tertiary setting, with strong opportunities for professional development and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality general pathology services

  • Support service delivery to hospital and community stakeholders

Essential Criteria

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility) in Pathology
  • IMGs on a recognised specialist pathway considered
  • Strong diagnostic, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Experience in Anatomical, Cytopathology or Chemical Pathology (desirable)
