Director of Cardiology – Specialist Cardiac Service

Location: Launceston, Tasmania

Employment Type: Fixed Term Part-Time

Salary: $222,789 – $319,701 p.a. (pro rata) + allowances (total package up to $500K+)

About the Role

Lead a major cardiac service delivering care across northern Tasmania. You will provide executive leadership for the Northern Heart Centre, overseeing strategy, clinical governance, and operational performance while ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care aligned with statewide priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical and administrative operations
  • Drive service planning and development
  • Build partnerships with clinicians and stakeholders
  • Oversee governance, quality improvement, and risk management

Essential Criteria

  • Specialist or limited registration in Cardiology (Australia)
  • IMG candidates on a specialist pathway or with recognised qualifications
  • Experience in clinical leadership and governance
