Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine

Location: Armidale, NSW

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Full-Time (12 months)

Salary: $197,583 - $243,822 p.a.

Start Date: Negotiable

About the Role

Join a regional referral hospital as an Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist during a 12-month period of service renewal and workforce transition. Provide specialist emergency care, clinical leadership, and support for junior medical staff while helping maintain high-quality, patient-centred services. International candidates can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist emergency medicine services.
  • Provide leadership and support during departmental transition.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
  • Participate in teaching, clinical governance, and quality improvement.
  • Contribute to on-call, telehealth, and emergency care services.

Essential Criteria

  • Eligible for AHPRA registration.
  • FACEM or substantially comparable overseas-trained specialist.
  • Recent experience in Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to education, clinical excellence, and patient safety.
