Deputy Director / Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine

Location: Swan Hill, VIC, Australia

About the Role

An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist to provide clinical leadership, governance support, and patient care within a modern regional Emergency Department seeing approximately 18,000 presentations annually. Working closely with the Clinical Director, you will support workforce planning, quality improvement, education, supervision, and service development while maintaining a clinical workload.

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or FRACGP/FACRRM with advanced emergency medicine qualifications.
  • Recent Emergency Medicine experience in Australia or a comparable setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, clinical governance, and quality improvement experience.
  • Commitment to teaching, supervision, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Willingness to participate in evenings, weekends, and on-call rosters.
  • International candidates can be considered, subject to registration and eligibility requirements.
