Sous Chef
- Join a small kitchen team at a wine bar in Perth.
- Assist the Head Chef in maintaining high food standards and operations.
- Lead the kitchen during service and contribute to menu development.
Overview
Sonny's Bar is a small, independent wine bar in Perth focused on great food, excellent wine and a warm, relaxed hospitality experience.

The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain a high standard of food, service and kitchen operations.

-Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
-Lead the kitchen during service when required.
-Maintain excellent food presentation, quality and consistency.
-Assist with menu development, specials and seasonal changes.
-Contribute ideas around produce, flavour combinations and dishes that complement the wine list.
-Complete daily preparation and ensure service is well organised.
-Assist with ordering, receiving and storing stock.
-Monitor food costs, wastage and portion control.
-Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and kitchen organisation.
-Train, support and motivate junior kitchen staff.
-Follow all relevant food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
-Help foster a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen culture.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience
-Relevant Certificate IV +
-A minimum of 1 years’ full-time work experience in the industry.
About You

-Takes pride in quality produce and thoughtful cooking.
-Is calm and professional under pressure.
-Has a genuine interest in wine, hospitality and the relationship between food and wine.
-Is reliable, punctual and takes ownership of their work.
-Enjoys working in a small team where everyone's contribution matters.
-Is keen to contribute ideas rather than simply follow recipes.
-Understands the importance of cleanliness, consistency and attention to detail.
What We Offer

-A supportive and close-knit team environment.
-The opportunity to work closely with the Head Chef and contribute to the menu.

-Competitive remuneration based on experience.
-A workplace that values professionalism, creativity and a healthy team culture.
