Site Supervisor – Waste Recycling Centre – Bowral NSW
A large national recycling company is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor for their waste recycling centre in Bowral, NSW.
This is an excellent full-time opportunity for a proactive leader with recycling or heavy industrial experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about operational excellence and safety.
Hours
- Monday to Friday: 6:30am – 4:00pm
- Saturday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
- Regular hours paid at approximately $45-$48 per hour (depending on experience)
- Overtime paid after 8 hours, providing strong earning potential
The Role
You will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the landfill and waste transfer operations run safely, efficiently and in accordance with operational requirements. Typical responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all team members understand and follow WHS procedures
- Monitoring plant and equipment, and promptly addressing maintenance or operational issues
- Completing and submitting accurate documentation within required timeframes (daily checklists, operational reports, work permits, JSAs, pre-starts and incident reports)
- Ensuring compliance with EPA requirements and relevant regulations
- Managing traffic flow and safe interaction between customers, heavy vehicles, plant operators and pedestrians
- Delegating tasks effectively and leading the team on a day-to-day basis
About You
- Proven experience leading and supervising teams
- Experience operating mobile plant and equipment safely (loaders, front-end loaders, bobcats, forklifts, etc.)
- Strong awareness of safe work practices around heavy plant and machinery
- Ability to perform under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
- Experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar is highly desirable but not essential
- Recycling, waste, landfill or heavy industrial experience preferred
This is a hands-on supervisory role with real responsibility in a busy operational environment.
