Project

  • Enterprise Technology Services is responsible for shaping, delivering, and supporting the technology ecosystem that underpins the Department. The team leads technology innovation, strategic initiatives, and end-to-end project delivery to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

Role

  • Provides specialist Agile advice and coaching to peers, continuously improving the execution of Scrum practices and processes. Servant leader for Scrum and Agile teams.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Agile delivery activities across multiple squads, ensuring successful execution of programme work packages and releases within agreed timelines.
  • Drive Agile best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimisation to deliver business value and enhance service performance.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate cross-team dependencies, risks, and impediments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and departmental standards.
  • Provide Agile leadership, coaching, and mentoring to stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and leadership to foster an effective Agile culture at scale.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of epics and features, supporting product backlog management, product goal definition, and benefits realisation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Expert knowledge of, and demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment, of agile practice, leading to successful ICT improvement or transformation creating realised business value.
  • Knowledge of, and experience of leading in a range of waterfall (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK) iterative, incremental and agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe)
  • Significant, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of agile practice best practices, as well as emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation.
  • Significant change management and leadership skills in delivering continuous service and product improvement, utilising demonstrated agile practice skills.
