Hays is partnering with a specialist Defence consultancy to source an experiencedSenior Radar Systems Engineerfor a high-profile engagement supporting a Federal Government Defence client.
Working within a strategically important Defence capability environment, you will provide specialist technical expertise acrossHF andMicrowave Radar Systems, supporting major IntegratedAir & Missile Defence and Over-The-Horizon Radar initiatives that willshape Australia's future defence capability.
This role willsee you working alongside senior Defence stakeholders to support capabilitydevelopment, requirements analysis, systems engineering activities, technicalreviews and integration planning across complex networked sensing environments.
Your new role
- Provide technical expertise across HF and Microwave Radar capabilities
- Support capability development and engineering activities for major Defence programs
- Conduct requirements analysis and capability assessments
- Develop systems architecture, interface definitions and technical artefacts
- Support systems integration, interoperability and certification activities
- Undertake technical reviews, trade studies and engineering assessments
- Facilitate workshops and engage with key Defence stakeholders
- Contribute to project milestones, capability documentation and decision support activities
- Provide specialist advice relating to radar sensing, networking and command and control architectures
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience working with HF and/or Microwave Radar Systems
- Strong systems engineering and technical capability development experience
- Experience supporting Defence capability projects and programs
- Knowledge of Defence engineering frameworks, processes and documentation
- Experience working with Defence stakeholders including CASG, DSTG, Force Design or Force Integration
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work autonomously within complex project environments
- Relevant engineering qualifications
- NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
- Sensor signal processing
- RF, antenna or communications engineering
- Sensor integration and data links
- Air Defence, Air Surveillance or IAMD programs
- OTHR environments
- GNSS integration and resilient navigation technologies
- Cyber security and secure communications architectures
