Your new role
- Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting processes
- Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial analysis
- Overseeing inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, landed costs and margin reporting
- Managing fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities
- Coordinating GST, BAS and statutory compliance requirements
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
- Reviewing payroll accounting and employee entitlement reconciliations
- Driving process improvements, reporting enhancements and finance system optimisation
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior finance team members
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion)
- Proven experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong month-end accounting, reporting and reconciliation experience
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution, importing or other inventory-focused environments
- Sound knowledge of inventory accounting, costing and stock controls
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation requirements, GST and BAS
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
