The Opportunity
This is a once-in-a-career Senior Designer seat at Carlisle Homes, Australia’s #1 Great Place to Work Builder (5x) and Victoria’s Most Professional Major Builder (HIA).
You won’t just join the best, you’ll set the next benchmark for Australian living across Carlisle’s full design catalogue. This seat has been held only three times in Carlisle’s proud 22-year history. You’ll also lead an exciting new phase of Medium Density / Spec Homes design. It’s hands-on, high-impact work where your ideas will show up in product, displays, and customer homes.
You’ll drive highly innovative, conceptual, buildable solutions across:
- Affinity Collection – sophisticated, architecturally led floorplans, with opulent luxury finishes.
- Inspire Range - flexible, family focussed designs with generous spaces, and premium inclusions built to suit budget and lifestyle.
- Easy Living – smart designs for smaller blocks and sharper budgets. Home buying made easy with great value, better quality, simple and fast.
- Medium Density / Spec Homes (New Function) – develop market-ready homes that maximise contemporary living, street appeal, customer demand, and commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, enhance and contribute to designs across all Carlisle product ranges
- Design and Produce detailed drawings for approval and ensure designs align to:
- Display village guidelines, envelopes, and structural requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation to support design history and intellectual property
- Regularly visit display homes to ensure execution aligns with the design intent
- Stay across market and consumer trends and translate them into commercially sound, brand-aligned design improvements
- Partner with internal stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Development and external developers as required
- Provide guidance and support to the broader design team (including interior design input where relevant)
- Uphold OH&S standards and contribute to a high-performing, cohesive team culture
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Senior Designer (residential building experience is preferred)
- End to end Exposure to Medium Density / Townhomes and/or Spec Homes is highly regarded
- Qualifications in Architecture (or Design aligned discipline)
- Strong visual awareness and attention to detail
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and time management skills
- Confident stakeholder management and relationship-building capability
- Strong computer skills (CAD/BIM (Revit)) capability relevant to residential documentation)
- A practical mindset including design quality, buildability, and commercial outcomes all matter
