Your new role
As a Senior Civil Designer, you will coordinate and deliver the design phase of civil engineering and land development projects with a high level of technical competence and minimal supervision.Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing, coordinating and reviewing civil design plans, calculations, reports, estimates and technical documentation
Managing design coordination with clients, councils, authorities, consultants and consultants
Reviewing external documentation and ensuring approval conditions and information requests are appropriately addressed
Monitoring design progress and identifying risks relating to programmes, costs, resources and compliance
Taking ownership of technical outcomes and resolving design issues
Supporting site inspections throughout the design and development process
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to designers and drafting staff
Promoting consistent design standards and quality across project teams
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will require:
- A minimum Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualification
- At least 10 years of civil design experience
- Demonstrated experience in land development design
- Strong knowledge of local authority, water authority and relevant industry standards
- Advanced proficiency in 12d, AutoCAD and AutoTURN
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing civil design documentation
- Strong technical judgement, initiative and problem-solving capability
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to mentor junior team members and coordinate design activities
- A commitment to quality, safety and ongoing professional development
