Senior Buyer - Homewares

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Buyer to join a leading and highly successful retail business, working across a diverse and commercially significant Homewares portfolio.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Buyer who is passionate about homewares, product and retail, and enjoys combining trend, customer insight and commercial performance to build ranges that customers love.
Working closely with the broader Merchandise team, you will play an important role in developing and delivering an exciting product assortment across the Homewares category, with responsibility for driving sales, margin, stock performance and category growth.

THE ROLE
Reporting into the senior Merchandise team, you will take ownership of your product portfolio and be responsible for the end-to-end buying process.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing the buying and category strategy across a Homewares portfolio
• Managing the end-to-end buying process, from range planning and product selection through to procurement and delivery
• Building commercially strong, customer-focused ranges across relevant Homewares categories
• Identifying emerging trends, customer insights and new product opportunities
• Working closely with suppliers to develop product, negotiate pricing and ensure quality and delivery expectations are met
• Managing seasonal and promotional ranges to maximise commercial opportunities
• Reviewing weekly and monthly sales, margin and stock performance and using insights to make informed trading decisions
• Monitoring competitor activity and broader market trends
• Working closely with Merchandise Planning, Product Development, Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Operations
• Managing budgets, forecasts, OTB and stock investment
• Continuously reviewing the range to ensure it remains relevant, commercially competitive and aligned with customer demand
• Contributing to the broader Homewares strategy and identifying opportunities for category growth

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a true retail Buyer and trader who is commercially driven, product-focused and passionate about Homewares.
You will ideally bring:

• Previous experience in a Buyer, Category Buyer or similar product-focused role
• Experience across Homewares, Kitchenware, Tabletop, Household or broader Consumer Goods is highly regarded
• A genuine passion for homewares and product
• Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of sales, margin, stock and profitability
• A strong eye for product, trends, colour, design and customer needs
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to turn data into commercial action
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
• The ability to work at pace and confidently manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine passion for retail
