Security Officer
- Provide relief coverage across a shopping centre in the Eastern Suburbs.

Glad Group Services is seeking professional and customer-focused Security Officers to join our casual team, providing relief coverage across a shopping centre located in the Eastern Suburbs. This role is ideal for flexible and reliable security professionals who can assist with unplanned absences, sick leave coverage, and additional operational requirements while helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the shopping centre, including internal and external areas.
- Monitor CCTV systems and security alarms.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and customer assistance requests.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, retailers, and centre stakeholders.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security records.
- Assist with emergency response procedures and evacuations when required.
- Liaise professionally with centre management, tenants, contractors, and emergency services.
- Support site operations by providing coverage for planned and unplanned staff absences.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current and valid Security Licence.
- Previous security experience in retail, commercial, or customer-facing environments is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Sound observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service focus and commitment to safety.
Working Conditions
- Ongoing casual position with varying hours based on operational requirements.
- Primarily engaged to provide coverage for sick leave, annual leave, training, and other staff absences as they arise.
- Shifts may be offered at short notice and can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Combination of indoor and outdoor patrol duties.
- No guaranteed minimum hours; rostered shifts will be allocated according to business needs and employee availability.
About You:
- Valid State Security Licence (mandatory)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (mandatory)
- Security experience in Retail or Commercial environments
- Control room experience (for Control Rooms Operators only)
- Experience in customer service
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
- Be well presented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours across a 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays
