Safety Superintendent - Underground Mining | 8/6 Roster | $175k-$190k + Super
We're seeking an experienced Safety Superintendent to join a leading hard rock mining operation, working on an 8/6 roster. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional who thrives in underground environments and is passionate about driving a strong safety culture across site.
 
About the Role
You'll oversee all site safety and health systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company standards. The role will see you lead incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments while providing mentoring and guidance to operational teams.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate site safety programs across underground mining activities
• Conduct incident investigations using ICAM methodology
• Maintain and improve safety management systems (INX) essential 
• Perform internal and external audits
• Liaise with the operations and management teams to ensure best practice safety outcomes
• Champion continuous improvement and workforce engagement in safety initiatives

About You:

• Proven experience in underground mining or tunnelling projects
• Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or higher qualification)
• Auditor certification and demonstrated auditing experience
• Strong working knowledge of RPS incidental investigation and ICAM processes
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and mentor others
