Residential Care Officer – Denistone NSW

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are delighted to be working with a highly regarded operator of a residential disability care home in Sydney's Northern Suburbs. They wish to appoint a skilled and experienced Residential Care officer to work with their residents providing 24 hour support (tailored to Individual NDIS plans) focusing on skills development and daily living independence. The role is full time and ongoing.

Location – Denistone NSW (Occasional travel to secondary facilities in Frenchs Forest, Mount Colah, and Normanhurst may be required as needed)

Salary – offered in the range $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of resident care plans.
  • Supervise or assist with personal care and daily living activities as needed.
  • Monitor and report on residents’ physical, cognitive, and emotional health.
  • Work with nursing and care teams to respond to changes in residents’ needs.
  • Assist in behaviour and wellbeing support.
  • Help maintain accurate resident records and documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, risk management, and compliance.
  • Promote a respectful, safe, and positive living environment.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and care teams.
  • Adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures including Occupational
  • Health and Safety (OHS) and safeguarding protocols.
  • Maintain privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of all aspects of client care.

You should be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths to be considered:

  • Diploma in a relevant field such as Community Services, Aged Care, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 years of professional experience in accredited residential care in a similar setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework, high care standards, and person-centred practices that empower participants toward independent living.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed assessment and report writing skills.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Possess, or willing to obtain, National Police Clearance.
  • A kind, professional, and culturally sensitive approach to care.
  • Possess a clear driver’s license

You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
