KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Support workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme.
  • Provide practical, pastoral and wellbeing support to PALM Scheme workers.
  • Build strong relationships and assist with community connections.

Flexible work. Genuine relationships. A role that matters.

We’re looking for a casual Regional Liaison Officer to support workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme across the Werribee area.

This isn't your typical desk job. It's a hands-on community role where you'll help people who have travelled to Australia for work feel safe, supported and connected while they're away from home.

One day that might mean helping someone get to a medical appointment. Another could involve checking in on a worker's wellbeing, helping resolve an accommodation concern, connecting someone with their community or simply being a trusted person they know they can call when they need support.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide practical, pastoral and wellbeing support to PALM Scheme workers, including:

  • Building strong and trusted relationships with workers
  • Providing regular face-to-face check-ins and wellbeing support
  • Assisting with appointments, transport and community connections
  • Helping workers navigate accommodation, workplace and personal matters
  • Providing advocacy and connecting workers with appropriate services
  • Liaising with employers, community services and the broader MADEC team
  • Identifying and escalating wellbeing or safety concerns
  • Supporting workplace safety requirements and toolbox meetings
  • Providing occasional after-hours or time-sensitive assistance when required

Who could this role suit?

This could be a great fit if you have experience in community services, disability, aged care, healthcare, education, employment services or multicultural support. But we're equally interested in people who simply have the right qualities: empathetic, resourceful, culturally aware and comfortable being the person others turn to for help.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Werribee and the surrounding community
  • A practical, calm and solutions-focused approach
  • The confidence to work independently and exercise good judgement
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally

The important bit: this is casual

Because this role can involve responding to unexpected or time-sensitive worker needs, we're particularly looking for people who are genuinely local to the Werribee area and able to provide face-to-face support when required.

If you're looking for flexible work that gets you out into the community and gives you the chance to genuinely improve someone's experience of living and working in Australia, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help PALM Scheme workers feel supported, connected and part of their local community.
