ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Officer is responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across JCU’s broad geographical footprint. In this role, you will provide high‑level administrative support to the Planning and Development team, including maintaining and updating project documentation, coordinating meetings and venue bookings, and preparing agendas and minutes. The Project Officer ensures accurate and compliant financial administration, supports the identification and mitigation of contract‑related risks, and contributes to service improvements by recognising procedural and system inefficiencies. You will also develop and deliver high‑quality information packages and communications to keep stakeholders engaged and well‑informed throughout the project lifecycle.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
With direct experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and/or training, you demonstrate knowledge and understanding of construction industry related documentation including architectural and engineering plans, tenders, funding reports, implementation plans and evaluation reports. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite are essential, as are numerical skills with experience in financial reporting, forecasting and modelling. Using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’re confident with delivering high-level administrative support for project committees and maintaining collaborative working relationships with ease. You bring significant organisational, administrative, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines. A current ‘C’ class Queensland Driver’s Licence is a requirement of this role, and you will also be required to undertake travel between campuses on occasion which may include overnight stays.
