Your new company is an established Australian-owned food manufacturer producing a range of premium frozen products. With a strong focus on product quality, food safety and continuous improvement, they are continuing to grow their local manufacturing operations.
Your new role
Working afternoon shift, you will oversee the daily activities of the afternoon production shift. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will coordinate workflow, support production staff and ensure safety, quality and output requirements are consistently achieved.A key part of the role will be overseeing the flavouring and batching process, including the correct use of a wide variety of ingredients and flavours used throughout ice cream production.Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating a team of 2 Process Operators
- Allocating daily tasks and monitoring production workflow
- Overseeing batching, flavouring, pasteurising, ageing and packaging processes
- Managing flavour and ingredient inventory, including accurate control of small quantities
- Ensuring ingredients are correctly measured, handled and recorded throughout production
- Maintaining food safety, product quality and workplace safety standards
- Completing batch records, production data and cleaning documentation
- Identifying and escalating equipment faults, quality concerns and production issues
- Training, coaching and supporting team members
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience within food, dairy or beverage manufacturing
- Good knowledge of flavours and the wide variety of ingredients used in ice cream production
- Hands-on experience with flavouring and batching processes
- Inventory control experience, including managing small quantities of flavours and ingredients
- Strong knowledge of food safety, product quality and workplace safety requirements
- The ability to accurately follow recipes, measurements and production specifications
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate a production team
- Good communication skills across production, quality and maintenance departments
- Strong attention to detail when completing production and batch documentation
What you'll get in return
