About the role

This is a part-time opportunity, fixed term until 30 June 2031 with the possibility of extension.

The Peer Worker is a lived experience practitioner working within the CLS team, providing individual and group support grounded in Intentional Peer Support principles such as mutuality, shared learning, connection and hope. The Peer Worker will support engagement, role model recovery and strengthen a consumer’s sense of choice and self-determination.

Skills & Experience

  1. Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment).
  2. Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery.
  3. Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
