A Appoint Recruitment is partnering with an established organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Lead for an initial 3–6 month contract, with the potential to extend longer term.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Australian payroll professional looking for a role where you can step in, make an impact and have genuine ownership of payroll operations.

The Opportunity 

  • Oversee the delivery of Australian payroll through a third-party payroll provider.
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries, issues and escalations.
  • Review and resolve complex payroll matters including final pays, redundancies, back payments, allowances, deductions, salary sacrifice and novated leases.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, SAP and other internal teams to resolve payroll and data issues.
  • Support payroll reporting, labour cost analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with payroll systems, process improvement and transition activities as required.

About You

We're looking for an experienced payroll professional who can confidently step into a senior payroll role and work effectively with both internal stakeholders and an external payroll provider.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong Australian payroll experience across weekly and/or monthly payroll environments.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Experience working with an outsourced payroll provider, payroll bureau or similar environment.
  • Experience working across payroll, HRIS, time and attendance and finance systems.
  • SAP experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
