Operations Manager

KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Lead warehouse operations and performance to meet business objectives.
  • Drive the adoption of digitisation and automation initiatives in the warehouse.
  • Develop and manage a large operational team through change.

  • Up to $125K + Super | South West Sydney
  • Senior operational leadership role reporting to the COO
  • Drive warehouse performance, systems adoption and process improvement

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a growing Australian manufacturer at a pivotal stage of its operational transformation.
Reporting directly to the COO, you will take ownership of warehouse performance, people, processes and operational capability, while playing a key role in the organisation’s digital transformation and warehouse automation journey.

This is an opportunity to bring your logistics or distribution experience into a growing manufacturing business, combining day-to-day warehouse leadership with practical systems and process improvement.

We’re looking for a practical operational leader with experience in warehouse optimisation who can bridge the gap between technology and people—improving how automation and systems are used while ensuring new processes are successfully adopted across the operation.

The Role

  • Lead warehouse operations, performance and team capability, ensuring the operation delivers against business objectives.
  • Lead the operational rollout and adoption of digitisation, system upgrades and robotics/automation initiatives, working closely with the COO.
  • Optimise existing automation and system-led workflows to improve stock flow, replenishment, picking and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the adoption of new systems, policies, procedures and SOPs, ensuring changes are understood and embedded across the operation.
  • Identify opportunities to digitise manual processes, improve workflows and use automation to increase productivity, accuracy and scalability.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, using operational data to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the COO and key stakeholders to align technology, processes and people with future business requirements.
  • Lead and develop a large operational team through change, building accountability, capability and engagement.
  • Maintain strong standards across inventory, quality, safety, compliance and risk management.

About You
You are an experienced Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager or similar operational leader who understands the warehouse floor and has improved performance through people, systems and automation.

You will bring:

  • Experience leading warehouse, distribution, logistics or manufacturing operations.
  • Direct experience working with warehouse automation and improving its performance, utilisation or supporting workflows.
  • Experience implementing, upgrading or optimising ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS), including embedding system-led processes.
  • Strong change-management skills, including training and supporting teams through new technology, processes and ways of working.
  • Strong analytical and KPI-management capability, with examples of operational improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing large operational teams, with a practical, people-focused approach.
  • Your automation background could include goods-to-person systems, automated picking, conveyors, robotics or comparable warehouse technology. Relevant experience may include optimising existing automation, onboarding products or customers into automated environments, or supporting system implementations and upgrades.
  • You don’t need an exclusively manufacturing background. What matters is your ability to adapt your experience to different operational requirements and deliver improvements across people, processes and technology.

What’s on Offer?

  • Up to $125K + Super, depending on experience.
  • Direct reporting line to the COO.
  • Ownership of warehouse performance, team capability and continuous improvement.
  • A key role in ERP, digitisation and robotics/automation initiatives.
  • The opportunity to apply your experience and shape future systems, processes and ways of working within a growing Australian manufacturer.
