An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Supervisor to join the team, delivering critical building inspection and assessment services throughout North Queensland.
Your new role
As an OO6/1 Supervisor, you will coordinate and undertake building inspections, condition assessments, and maintenance-related services across a large and diverse regional footprint. This role will involve extensive travel, including overnight stays of up to two weeks at a time, servicing communities from Ingham and Home Hill through to the Gulf of Carpentaria, Birdsville, the Northern Territory border, and remote Indigenous communities including Palm Island, Mornington Island, and Doomadgee.Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and delivering high-quality building condition assessments
- Conducting inspections, surveys, and preparing pricing estimates for building elements and construction materials
- Collecting suspected asbestos-containing material samples for laboratory testing
- Undertaking tenancy management inspections and maintenance referrals for Government Employee Housing
- Preparing accurate reports and maintaining inspection records
- Building positive relationships with clients, tenants, and stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Construction industry trade qualification (highly desirable)
- Current White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
- Current C Class Driver Licence
- Experience undertaking building inspections, maintenance assessments, or construction supervision activities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, Teams and PDF-based systems
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across a large geographical region
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality outcomes
