Nurse Practitioner – Medical Centre, Queensland

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a well-established Medical Centre in Queensland seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This practice is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse community and offers a broad range of general medical services.

The Role
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care alongside a team of experienced healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities will include assessing, diagnosing, and managing patient health, focusing on preventive care, chronic disease management, and minor injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and manage a range of health conditions.
  • Diagnose and treat chronic and acute conditions, including minor injuries.
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice.
  • Provide health education and advice to patients and families.
  • Support coordinated care for complex cases.
  • Perform health screenings, vaccinations, and preventative checks.

Essential Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Nurse and advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification.
  • Strong clinical experience in general practice or primary healthcare.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in managing chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease).
  • Expertise in women’s health, mental health, or paediatrics.
  • Experience with minor procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care).
