  • Location: Canberra

About the role
seeking an experienced Network Architect to take a senior, highly client-facing role supporting a major Federal Government customer in Canberra. While deep technical expertise across Network, Voice and Video services is essential, this role is equally focused on customer leadership, technical strategy and trusted-advisor capability.
You will work directly with senior customer stakeholders to understand their business and technology priorities, provide technical direction, challenge and influence decisions, and translate requirements into secure, resilient and commercially viable technology solutions. This is not simply a design role.
You will become a key technical face to the customer, taking ownership of the architectural relationship and bringing together internal engineering, solution, delivery and operational teams to deliver against the customer's technology strategy. Importantly, the role has a clear pathway to transition into a broader Chief Architect position within the Enterprise business.
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to the customer, building strong relationships across technology, architecture and senior leadership.
  • Lead customer conversations across Network, Voice and Video strategy. Understand the customer's business objectives and translate them into technology strategies, architectures and transformation roadmaps.
  • Own architecture across LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, data centre networking, wireless and cloud connectivity.
  • Provide architectural leadership across Voice, VoIP, Unified Communications, Video and Collaboration services.
  • Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews and strategic customer discussions. Present complex technical recommendations clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify technology risks, capability gaps and opportunities for modernisation.
  • Influence customer technology roadmaps rather than simply responding to individual technical requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership across transformation, migration and technology-refresh programs.
  • Develop HLDs, LLDs, architecture standards and strategic roadmaps.
  • Coordinate across network, security, cloud, voice, video, engineering and operational teams to maintain end-to-end solution integrity.
  • Provide architecture governance through design, implementation and transition into operations.
  • Support solution development, proposals, RFP/RFI activity and broader customer opportunities.
  • Mentor architects and senior engineers and provide technical direction across multidisciplinary teams.
