ME Medical Recruitment - Currently recruiting for a Nephrologist to work full time in a Regional Hospital in Victoira.  Please note, this position is flying distance from Melbourne. 

Are you a dedicated and experienced Staff Specialist Nephrologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality care to renal patients? We are seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic team in a public hospital setting.

Position Description:

  • Position: Staff Specialist Nephrologist

     

  • Directorate: Medical Operations
  • Division: Senior Medical Workforce
  • Business Unit: General Medicine
  • Enterprise Agreement: AMA VICTORIA – VICTORIAN PUBLIC HEALTH SECTOR – MEDICAL SPECIALISTS ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT
  • Reports to: Clinical Director of Medicine

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provision of renal services to patients under direct care

     

  • Supervision of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis units
  • Collaboration with other medical units for patient care
  • Conducting various clinics and ward rounds
  • Maintaining thorough medical records
  • Teaching and training medical students
  • Participating in quality improvement activities

     

  • Involvement in research projects
  • Collaboration with colleagues for service improvement
  • Compliance with hospital policies and procedures

     

  • Documentation in patient notes
  • Professional behavior with staff, patients, and visitors
  • Continuing medical education and professional development
  • Performance management and competency assessment
  • Key Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with Nephrology sub-specialty

  • Experience in a public hospital setting
  • Specialist recognition for billing patients
  • Willingness to participate in quality assurance activities

Desirable:

  • Intervention nephrology skills
  • Research experience
  • Teaching and training experience
  • Commitment to medical education

Mandatory Requirements:

  • National Police Record Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Immunisation Requirements
  • Driver's Licence
