Your Tasks
- Collect Production Orders, patterns and materials, and prepare patterns by mixing sands, filling and screening off
- Turn out patterns and check quality, place cores in moulds, paint moulds to seal, and close cope and drag
- Assist with other foundry operations including knocking out castings, furnace operations, pouring moulds and fettling.
- Maintain equipment, tools and work area, including routine maintenance and keeping the area clean and organised.
- Direct and mentor trades assistants and apprentices where required, providing clear, constructive, and encouraging feedback.
About You
- Supervisory experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of moulding practices and methods.
- Able to follow method sheets, and plan and prepare for jobs.
- Able to operate lifting equipment, hand and power tools.
- Able to communicate and work as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a foundry / heavy manufacturing environment, including exposure to extreme heat and potentially dangerous materials.
- Ability to problem solve with a positive 'can do' attitude.
