About the Role
Ignition Auto & Tyreworks is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team. The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, service and repair a range of vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment
- Carry out scheduled, logbook and general vehicle servicing in accordance with manufacturer requirements
- Dismantle, repair and reassemble mechanical components as required
- Repair and replace faulty engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension and cooling system components
- Perform engine tuning, fluid changes, filter replacements and preventative maintenance
- Test and adjust mechanical components and systems following repairs to ensure correct operation
- Identify worn, damaged or defective components and determine appropriate repair or replacement requirements
- Conduct road tests and final quality checks to confirm vehicle performance and repair effectiveness
- Record diagnostic findings, servicing performed, repairs completed and replacement parts used
- Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment and work areas and comply with workshop safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent relevant qualification
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic
- Experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing passenger and light commercial vehicles
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical systems and fault-diagnosis procedures
- Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and interpret manufacturer servicing information
- Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance and vehicle safety requirements
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a workshop team
- Current Australian driver licence is preferred
