As a not-for-profit organisation, Better Health Network supports people and families at different stages of life and works with communities to strengthen health and wellbeing. We believe that better health and wellbeing is built around community.

About the role

As a Mental Health Clinician in the Early Intervention Psychosocial Support and Recovery (EIPSR) Program, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver individual and group-based, recovery-oriented support. You will partner with consumers, families, carers and local stakeholders to develop practical recovery goals and strengthen participation in community life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete holistic assessments, recovery-oriented care plans, mental state and risk assessments, and safety and wellness plans.
  • Manage a caseload and provide one-to-one, outreach and discipline-specific support using strengths-based and lived experience-informed approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers, team members and other stakeholders through care meetings, reviews, case discussions and safety planning.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic and recreational group activities and support access to community engagement and employment opportunities.
  • Manage referral enquiries, maintain timely and accurate consumer records, monitor outcomes and contribute to program promotion and continuous improvement.

About you

You will be an experienced mental health, psychosocial support or community services practitioner who brings sound professional judgement, initiative and a genuinely consumer-focused approach.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • A professional qualification in lived experience or peer work, welfare, mental health or an equivalent discipline.
  • Experience providing recovery-focused rehabilitation and individual support to people living with mental illness and psychosocial disability, ideally in hospital or community mental health settings.
  • Well-developed assessment, care planning, risk assessment and professional boundary skills, with the ability to work autonomously and seek consultation when required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships within a multidisciplinary team and with consumers and their supports.
  • An understanding of the social determinants of health and a commitment to inclusive practice with diverse communities, including LGBTIQA+ and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • A reflective, flexible and emotionally intelligent approach, together with a commitment to the MARAM framework and BHN values.
  • A current full or probationary driver licence.
