About the opportunity
An opportunity is available for an experienced Medical Science Liaison to join a growing Medical Affairs team ahead of an exciting future product launch.
This is a national role with a strong focus on building trusted relationships with HCP’s, developing the external stakeholder network and gathering meaningful medical insights to support launch readiness and future strategy. You will be joining at an early and influential stage, with the opportunity to help establish the medical foundations for the portfolio
The first six months will involve a strong focus on face-to-face engagement, relationship building and developing a detailed understanding of the clinical landscape, unmet needs and external stakeholder environment.
Duties
- Build and maintain trusted peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs and researchers
- Deliver high-quality scientific exchange across disease state, clinical evidence and emerging research
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans nationally
- Gather and communicate meaningful medical insights to support medical strategy and launch readiness
- Support pre-launch and launch planning activities
- Contribute to advisory boards, expert meetings, medical education programs and congress activities
- Create and deliver scientific presentations to internal and external audiences
- Provide scientific input across Medical Affairs and broader cross-functional teams
- Support publication planning, evidence generation and scientific communication initiatives
- Provide scientific and therapeutic area training to internal stakeholders
Skills and Experience
- Around 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or within a comparable field-based Medical Affairs role
- Strong experience engaging healthcare professionals and developing credible peer-to-peer relationships
- Strong scientific communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interpret and translate complex clinical and scientific information
- Strong understanding of the Australian pharmaceutical and healthcare environment
- Previous launch or pre-launch experience would be highly regarded
- Experience within a specialist or complex therapeutic area would be advantageous
- Advanced scientific or healthcare qualification such as a PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent
- Willingness to travel nationally and spend significant time engaging stakeholders face-to-face
