Position: Mechanical Engineering Technician

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Wendouree VIC 3355

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team located in Wendouree, Victoria.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
2. Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
3. Selecting tools and equipment for the job at hand
4. Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
5. Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
6. Performing and directing field and laboratory tests on mechanical systems, components and materials
7. Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
8. Organising and supervising the inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
9. Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

Requirements:

1. AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
2. At least three (3) years of relevant industry experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
3. Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Technician in an engineering, manufacturing, machining, or industrial environment
4. Proven experience with CNC machining.
