The Opportunity

Are you an experienced maintenance leader with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Leading Hand to join our high-performing team at Curragh North.

As a key member of the Curragh North team, you'll play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient fleet performance while leading a skilled mobile maintenance crew to deliver planned and breakdown maintenance activities.

Roster: 7/7 | Location: Curragh North, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will 

• Lead and coordinate a skilled mobile maintenance team in line with Supervisor and Superintendent direction.
• Fulfil Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities during periods of absence.
• Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems and procedures.
• Source and interpret technical information from manuals, bulletins and computer-based systems.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel and operational stakeholders.
• Source and requisition parts and equipment using approved ordering processes.
• Verify repairs and ensure non-conforming equipment is controlled until corrective actions have been completed.

About You

• Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent trade qualification.
• Current Standard 11.
• Current S123 and RIIRIS402E G2.
• Demonstrated mining maintenance experience with exposure to leading or supervising HD Fitters.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• High regard for health, safety and environmental standards.
• Commitment to teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
