The Opportunity:
Our client is Australia's No. 1 supplier of structural and treated timber nationally, supplying quality timber products across the country, and is seeking a proactive and responsible Maintenance Fitter to join the team and become a part of a hardworking production team. Opportunity to move into Maintenance Supervisor role at outstanding rates.
- Monday to Friday – 8hr shifts
- Wages starting from $56.25/hr with Penalty rates up to $101.25/hr plus Superannuation
- Opportunities to advance to Maintenance Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections and component replacement
- Work on conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentice
- Demonstrate practical guidance and maintenance tasks adhering to safe work practices and fault finding
Requirements to fulfill the role:
- Trade Qualification with a Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
- Previous experience in maintenance fitting with manufacturing, timber, sawmill or heavy industrial environments including conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown experience
- Strong understanding of WHS, isolation and lockout/tagout procedures
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Be physically fit and healthy and able to pass Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol Screening
- Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy and physically demanding environment
