About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Fitter to join their maintenance team at their hardwood sawmill in Wondai, located in the South Burnett region.
The role will involve carrying out breakdown repairs, routine preventative maintenance and contributing to plant upgrades and improvement projects.
This is a full-time position offering an immediate start for the right candidate.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on mechanical plant and production equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and ensure reliable operations.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs, replacements and equipment change-outs.
- Assist with the installation, setup and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all WHS requirements and site safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant mechanical trade qualifications, or close to completion, with previous manufacturing experience highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, with the ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, basic computer literacy and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have an eagerness to learn specialised PLC-controlled machinery and equipment.
